The distinctive photographs of my work are created by applying special effects with a computer program to my original photos, in order to produce unique interpretations of the image. Photography has been a lifelong passion that I only recently have begun to pursue professionally

I am inspired by the beauty of my current home…Mississippi River, bluffs, trees, flowers, and the unusual local barns. Back in my hometown, I am captivated by the natural wonder of the Michigan shoreline, dunes, and the majestic lighthouses. I also find inspiration from music, especially jazz, with the notion of taking a melody (in this case, an image), creating variations, interpretations, and transforming it into something new.   My earliest influence was my Dad who found joy throughout his life in creating a variety of crafts and art.

I earned degrees in Bachelor of Arts-Music Education (Michigan State University 1979), and Master of Science-Counseling (Winona State University 1987).

My first career was in music education; holding high school teaching positions in Michigan and Wisconsin.  I was a mental health counselor in Red Wing, Minnesota for 20 years, retiring from that career in 2005.

Currently, my work is available in Red Wing, Minnesota at the Pottery Place Art Company, and the Red Wing Arts Association.  In St. Joseph/Benton Harbor, Michigan it is available at the Krasl Art Center, Waterfront Art Gallery, and the Berrien Artist’s Guild-Box Factory For The Arts Center.

I was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Currently, I reside in Red Wing, Minnesota.
